Hi! I'm Juan Pedro Jaramillo, I was born in Manizales-Caldas, grew up in Medellín-Colombia and went to school in Boston, MA where I graduated Summa Cum Laude (Cumulative GPA 3.85–4.00) as a Bachelor in Music from Berklee College of Music, one of the top university worldwide in my field (Berklee alumni have won over 310 Grammy awards). At Berklee I Majored in Music production and Engineering (MP&E), Music Business, and minored in Art History. While in school I had the privilege to be an International grant recipient (financial award).
In my spare time I love learning new things and dearly enjoy traveling. I currently hold two Master degrees from top schools in Colombia, an MBA from EAFIT university (Medellín) and a Master in Marketing from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá). I have also taken classes at Harvard University (Boston, MA), Kyung Hee university (Seoul, South Korea), Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) and McGill (Montreal, Canada) and have had the privilege to have visited more than 40 countries (5 continents)
I currently devote most of my professional time to Tecnología Renovable y Sostenible TERSO, a company I co-founded in order to lead the adoption of renewable and clean energies in Colombia to allow a more efficient and smart use of natural resources and promote the preservation of our environment. I also devote part of my professional life and energy to three more companies: Óptima de Urabá S.A E.S.P, a water utility company that provides potable water to more than 40,000 users in the north of Antioquia in Colombia, Pavimentos de Urabá Mezclas y Agregados, a company specialized in the production and processing of pavements and construction aggregates, and LOTUS, a transportation company for construction waste and prime materials for modular rigid flooring and pavements. I take part as a member of the board of directors and participate on key decisions and strategies for the companies, striving for sustainability in operations and cost effectiveness.
I'm passionate about creating and developing ideas that generate value to our communities and our environment. It is very rewarding to be able to see concepts become products and services that improve and enhance the lives of others.
I'm a team player at work and in my personal life, believe deeply in family values, and love sharing quality time with people I care about, healthy eating habits, and keeping up to date with new technologies.
"We choose hope over fear. We see the future not as something out of our control, but as something we can shape for the better through concerted and collective effort. We reject fatalism or cynicism when it comes to human affairs; we choose to work for the world as it should be, as our children deserve it to be."
